Project Artxilium is a 2018 Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes non-profit self-initiated Values-In-Action project working with Very Special Arts (VSA) Singapore. We aim to raise awareness of the hardships that mentally or physically challenged youths face and what can be done to overcome these difficulties.
The word 'Artxilium' is a portmanteau of 'art' and 'auxilium'. Auxilium means to aid or give tribute and one of VSA's goals is to do so by equipping disadvantaged people with artistic skills. The project currently has over 60 student volunteers from more than 10 different schools.
about us

The project is currently lead by a core team of four students (Core 4) and 12 ICs and Co-ICs. Project Artxilium is divided into sub-committees, including the Events, Street Sales, Design and Publicity Committees. Although the project is largely managed and run by student volunteers, Project Artxilium also has adult advisors that help the student volunteers to plan activities strategically and execute events efficiently.
This project is supported by Very Special Arts, an affiliate of the National Council for Social Services, and the Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes. It is also supported by the two schools of the Core 4 students, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) and Methodist Girls' School.
Project Artxilium wishes to shed light on the problems that people with disabilities face and break the stigma against them. Our mission is to raise funds to educate and empower people with disabilities through the arts.
